In a swift response to the recent flooding crisis, Additional Collector Shri CL Marakandey conducted an on-ground inspection of the flood-affected areas near Gendatola village in Rajnandgaon, Chhattisgarh, today. The visit focused on assessing the situation following the tragic incident at Fafamar Nala, where two individuals, Shri Keshav Dharmagudi and Shri Devendra Yadav, were swept away by strong currents during heavy rainfall.

According to official reports, the body of Shri Keshav Dharmagudi has been recovered from the swollen Fafamar Nala. The local authorities, in coordination with rescue teams, ensured that his last rites were performed with due respect.

The search for Shri Devendra Yadav, who remains missing, continues with rescue operations intensified despite challenging conditions caused by persistent monsoon rains.Shri Marakandey, during his inspection, gathered critical information about the incident and reviewed the relief measures in place.

He interacted with local residents and officials to ensure that support reaches those affected by the floods. The heavy rainfall, which has battered parts of Rajnandgaon, has caused significant waterlogging and damage to infrastructure, prompting the district administration to ramp up rescue and relief efforts.
