The workshop was formally inaugurated on May 5 by Chhattisgarh Deputy Chief Minister and Minister for Urban Administration and Development, Arun Sao. In his address, Mr. Sao presented a comprehensive five-year vision for the structured development of urban bodies in the state and introduced key government schemes, legal provisions, and civic regulations.

He explained that the core objective of the workshop was to align representatives with the state’s vision for urban development over the next five years. Using a PowerPoint presentation, Mr. Sao detailed government initiatives like the Swachh Bharat Mission, AMRUT Mission, and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
