Ambedkar Symposium in Rajnandgaon Highlights Legacy and BJP's Commitment to His Vision Barbarika Truth

As part of the nationwide fortnight-long celebration of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanti from April 14 to April 25, the Bharatiya Janata Party organized a grand symposium and felicitation event — “Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Samman Sabha & Sangoshthi” — at the Govind Ram Nirmalkar Auditorium in Rajnandgaon.

Keynote speaker Kailash Vijayvargiya, BJP National General Secretary and Minister in the Madhya Pradesh Government, took the stage with a powerful address. He lauded Dr. Ambedkar as one of the greatest reformers in world history and accused the Congress party of systematically suppressing his legacy for decades.

“While global leaders like Abraham Lincoln and Nelson Mandela ended slavery and became international icons, Dr. Ambedkar—who abolished untouchability and caste discrimination through constitutional reforms—was denied global recognition due to the Congress party’s dynastic politics,” said Vijayvargiya. He cited instances where Nehru allegedly sidelined Ambedkar’s legislative efforts, including opposition to Article 370 and the Hindu Code Bill.

He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for honoring Ambedkar’s ideals, noting that Ambedkar Jayanti is now observed in over 125 countries, including at the United Nations. He credited Modi’s schemes like Jan Dhan Yojana, free ration distribution, and housing for the poor as efforts inspired by Ambedkar’s vision for an inclusive and equitable India.

Former Chief Minister and Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, MP Santosh Pandey, Mayor Madhusudan Yadav, and several other senior leaders also addressed the gathering, reiterating BJP’s unwavering commitment to the Constitution and Ambedkar’s philosophy.

Raman Singh described Dr. Ambedkar as “a man who became a movement,” and said that his birth is now a moment of global remembrance.

Mayor Madhusudan Yadav and MP Santosh Pandey took sharp digs at Congress, particularly Rahul Gandhi, for allegedly misrepresenting the Constitution and ignoring historical truths, citing how the Emergency period under Indira Gandhi saw major constitutional amendments and suppression of democratic rights.

Highlighting BJP’s inclusive approach, Vijayvargiya invited attendees to visit Ambedkar’s birthplace at Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, now being developed into an educational and spiritual center in his memory.

The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony honoring notable members of the Scheduled Caste community for their contributions to society. Dignitaries like Kanti Kumar Phule, D.P. Lonhare, P.L. Wasnik, Nanda Meshram, and others were recognized for their impactful work.

The program was smoothly conducted by Sharad Srivastava and concluded with a vote of thanks by BJP District President Komal Singh Rajput.
