The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has launched its ‘Save Democracy, Remove Mobocracy’ campaign to promote awareness of democratic values, protect democratic traditions and highlight what the party describes as the Opposition’s negative politics.

Senior BJP leader Khubchand Parakh has been appointed convener of the district-level campaign team. The party has also appointed coordinators for seven initiatives through which it plans to reach different sections of society.

BJP Alleges Opposition Is Undermining Democratic Institutions

District BJP president Komal Singh Rajput said the party alleges that the Congress and other Opposition parties are attempting to influence the democratic system through what it describes as mobocracy at Jantar Mantar and other locations in Delhi.

According to the BJP, such political activities affect the country’s image and undermine democratic norms. The party has launched the campaign in response, aiming to highlight the importance of democratic institutions and constitutional values.

The allegations represent the BJP’s stated position behind the campaign.

Seven Initiatives to Drive Public Awareness

The campaign will continue until November 5. According to the party, seven initiatives will be used to engage different sections of society and communicate the importance of democracy and democratic conduct.

The initiatives include:

  • Padyatra (foot march): Mayor Madhusudan Yadav
  • Intellectual dialogue: Shashikant Dwivedi
  • Youth dialogue: Sachin Singh Baghel
  • Student competitions: Bharat Lal Verma
  • Social media influencer coverage: Neelu Sharma
  • Special-edition publications: Yogesh Dutt Mishra
  • Press conferences: Amar Lalwani

Through these activities, the party intends to reach citizens through public engagement, discussions, student participation, social media outreach, publications and press briefings.

District Campaign Team Announced

Khubchand Parakh has been appointed the overall in-charge and convener of the district campaign team.

The other members of the district team are Rajendra Golchha, Dikesh Sahu, Raman Dongre, Ravindra Vaishnav and Prashant Kodape.

The appointment of coordinators for the seven initiatives is intended to organise the campaign’s activities at the district level.

Parakh Calls for Active Participation

Campaign in-charge Khubchand Parakh said BJP workers would reach people to convey the message of strengthening democracy, respecting constitutional institutions and preserving democratic traditions.

He called upon party office-bearers and workers to participate actively in the scheduled programmes and work towards making the campaign effective.

With activities planned across seven initiatives until November 5, the BJP aims to expand public outreach around its stated message of protecting democratic values and opposing what it calls mobocracy.
