15 Naxal-Affected Families and 13 Surrendered Maoists Receive Rehabilitation Benefits in Rajnandgaon

₹60 Lakh Sanctioned for Housing and Land Assistance; ₹65,000 Incentive Released for Surrendered Maoists Under Rehabilitation Policy

In a significant step towards the rehabilitation of families affected by Left-Wing Extremism and surrendered Maoists, the Rajnandgaon district administration has extended rehabilitation benefits to 15 Naxal-affected families and 13 surrendered Maoists under the Chhattisgarh Naxalite Surrender and Victim Relief Rehabilitation Policy-2025.

Under the scheme, ₹60 lakh has been sanctioned for housing and land assistance to affected families, while ₹65,000 has been approved as incentive assistance for surrendered Maoists.

₹60 Lakh Approved for Housing and Land Assistance

According to the district administration, each of the 15 Naxal-affected families has been sanctioned ₹4 lakh as compensation in lieu of housing and land in rural areas, taking the total assistance to ₹60 lakh.

The assistance aims to help families affected by Naxal violence rebuild their lives and achieve long-term rehabilitation.

Incentive for 13 Surrendered Maoists

The district-level rehabilitation committee has also approved an incentive of ₹5,000 per person for 13 surrendered Maoists, amounting to a total of ₹65,000, as provided under the state’s rehabilitation policy.

Officials said the initiative is intended to encourage former extremists to reintegrate into mainstream society.

District Rehabilitation Committee Monitoring the Process

The rehabilitation programme is being implemented under the supervision of the District-Level Rehabilitation Committee, chaired by Collector Jitendra Yadav. The committee includes:

  • Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma
  • Additional Collector C.L. Markandey
  • Officials from various government departments

The committee is responsible for ensuring that eligible beneficiaries receive assistance under the state’s rehabilitation policy.

The district administration stated that, in addition to financial assistance, beneficiaries under the rehabilitation policy have previously received several welfare benefits, including:

  • Economic assistance from the state and central governments
  • Government employment support in eligible cases
  • Ration cards under the Chief Minister Food Scheme
  • Certificates providing 50% concession on fares in state-run passenger buses
  • Other rehabilitation and welfare benefits aimed at facilitating social and economic reintegration

Beneficiaries Express Gratitude

Representing the Naxal-affected families, Dhirendra Sahu thanked the district and police administrations for implementing the rehabilitation policy.

He said the sanctioned financial assistance has provided new hope to families affected by Naxal violence and will play an important role in helping them rebuild their lives.

The district administration reiterated its commitment to implementing rehabilitation measures alongside ongoing anti-Naxal operations to promote peace, security, and inclusive development in affected areas.
