SP Ankita Sharma Inspects Polling Stations and Reviews Security Arrangements Ahead of June 1 Voting

Administrative preparations for the urban local body elections in the newly constituted Ghumka Nagar Panchayat have reached the final phase ahead of polling scheduled for June 1. To ensure that the election is conducted in a peaceful, fair and well-organized manner, Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma visited the Ghumka area on Saturday and inspected various polling stations and election-related arrangements.
Additional Superintendent of Police Kirtan Rathore accompanied her during the inspection. The officers reviewed the physical condition of polling stations, accessibility of approach roads, communication facilities and several other aspects related to the election process. They also assessed the situation in sensitive and highly sensitive areas.

Strong Room and Election Arrangements Reviewed
During the visit, the officials inspected the strong room designated for the safe storage of election materials and reviewed the arrangements made there. Necessary instructions were issued to the concerned staff to ensure the smooth functioning of all election-related activities during the polling process.
SP Ankita Sharma directed officers and personnel present at the inspection to perform their duties with utmost vigilance, impartiality and responsibility throughout the election period.
Peaceful and Transparent Elections Top Priority
She stated that ensuring a peaceful voting process remains the administration’s top priority and that all necessary preparations are being put in place to achieve this objective.
The Superintendent of Police further instructed officials deployed on election duty to maintain continuous surveillance across the region, ensure effective patrolling and strictly follow the guidelines issued by the Election Commission. Emphasis was also placed on maintaining a sense of security and confidence among the general public.

First Election After Formation of Nagar Panchayat
It is noteworthy that this will be the first election since the formation of Ghumka Nagar Panchayat. Political activities in the area have intensified in recent weeks, making the election a significant event for local residents and stakeholders.
In view of the heightened political engagement, the administration has been continuously reviewing preparations to ensure that the electoral process is conducted with complete transparency, fairness and peace.
Administration on High Alert Ahead of Polling Day
With voting scheduled for June 1, both the district administration and police department appear fully prepared and alert. The focus remains on providing a secure environment where voters can exercise their democratic rights freely and without fear.
