On Monday instant, both the BJP and the Congress carried out their nomination rallies for the posts in Ghumka Nagar Panchayat. The town, which is going to witness its first-ever election after being declared a Nagar Panchayat, saw a massive display of political strength and public support.
The power showcase by both parties was so grand that the atmosphere in Ghumka appeared no less than a Lok Sabha election. Congress and BJP workers, supporters, and senior leaders participated enthusiastically, turning the nomination process into a major political event.

The BJP rally saw the presence of several prominent leaders, including Senior BJP leader Khubchand Parakh former MP Abhishek Singh,former MP Madhusudan Yadav, Ex MLAs of Dongargarh respectively Vinod Khandekar Ramji Bharati,ExMLA Komal Janghel,along with Ex-District Panchayat President Dinesh Gandhi. BJP leaders Sachin Baghel, Vinod Khandekar, and Ramji Bharti also joined the rally. Janpad and Zila Panchayat members, including many sarpanches also participated with a large gathering of BJP workers and supporters.

Similarly, the Congress rally also witnessed an impressive turnout. Congress MLA Harshita Baghel, Congress rural district president Jeetu Mudliar, Vipin Yadav, Sudesh Deshmukh,Santosh pulley,Nawaj Khan,and senior Congress leader Padam Singh Kothari led the rally along with hundreds of Congress workers and supporters.
The atmosphere in Ghumka resembled a Lok Sabha election campaign rather than a local body poll, highlighting the political significance of the first Nagar Panchayat election in the region.
