Divine Glow and Devotion: Over 1,200 Jyoti Kalash Lit at Maa Bhaneshwari Devi Temple in Singhola Barbarika Truth

On March 30, a record 1,248 Jyoti Kalash were lit at the temple — 589 filled with ghee and 658 with oil — symbolizing unwavering devotion and spiritual awakening. The glowing lamps created a mesmerizing scene, turning the Shaktipith into a beacon of divinity and hope.

On April 6, a massive havan, yagna, and fullahuti ceremony was conducted, attracting devotees from across the region. The celebrations continue as preparations are underway for the grand Jawara Visarjan procession on April 7, a highly anticipated spiritual spectacle in which the sprouted barley plants (jawara) — symbolizing prosperity and blessings — are ceremonially immersed. The shobha yatra (procession) is expected to witness even larger crowds, as it winds through the village with music, devotion, and vibrant cultural displays.

Adding to the devotional atmosphere, a seven-day Shrimad Bhagwat Katha is ongoing at the temple, led by renowned speaker Pt. Raja Maharaj Ji from Khursipar, Balod district. His soulful narration of ancient scriptures has captivated the hearts of listeners each day. The event is being coordinated by Manoj and Smt. Anita Chandrakar, with full support from the temple committee.

Key members of the temple organizing team include priest Dilip Kumar Thakur, president Nand Narendra Sahu, vice-president Bhoj Ram Sahu, treasurer Suresh Sahu, secretary Roshan Sahu, and patrons Lakhan Sahu, Puranik Sahu, Rambilas Sahu, Amar Singh, and Bhuvan Sahu. The team has invited all nearby residents to visit the temple during Navratri and seek the blessings of Maa Bhaneshwari Devi, described as the loving divine mother who uplifts souls with her grace.

The celebration not only reflects the vibrant spiritual culture of Chhattisgarh but also showcases how faith and community come together to create an unforgettable religious experience.
