The Chhattisgarh unit of Panchgavya Doctor Association organised a ‘Gau Vigyan Evam Swasthya Katha’ at Sahu Community Hall, Ambagarh Chowki. During the programme, Dr. Niranjan Verma, Founder and Gurukul Chancellor of Panchgavya Vidyapeetham, Kanchipuram, elaborated on the scientific, spiritual and medicinal significance of indigenous cattle and Panchgavya therapy.

Scientific and Spiritual Significance of Indigenous Cattle

Dr. Niranjan Verma explained in detail the role of indigenous cattle in maintaining the balance of the five elements of nature. He expressed concern over the declining population of cattle, stating that it is adversely affecting the environment and contributing to the depletion of groundwater levels.

Discussing the economic aspect of cattle rearing, he said that the expenditure incurred on maintaining cows is comparatively low when measured against the long-term benefits received, making it economically viable for farmers.

Referring to Indian traditions, he highlighted that cows have been accorded the status of mother and deity in ancient scriptures due to their unique characteristics. He also remarked that while children are taught in schools that cows are four-legged animals, such teachings do not face opposition despite their cultural importance.

Focus on Chhattisgarh’s Kosali Breed

Dr. Verma stated that compared to cattle breeds found in other states, Chhattisgarh’s Kosali breed is superior. He noted that if the same level of care, resources and investment provided to other high-yielding breeds is extended to the Kosali breed, it has the potential to produce even higher milk yields.

Promotion of Natural Health Practices

He further mentioned that marigold flowers possess virus-eliminating properties and described rice as the best among millets. Advising people on healthy lifestyle practices, he encouraged reducing dependence on RO and bottled water and promoting the use of Ayurveda and Panchgavya-based medicines.

Participation of Public Representatives and Citizens

The programme witnessed the presence of District Livestock Development Chairman Chinta Ram Nayak, Nagar Panchayat President Anil Manikpuri, Janpad Panchayat President Punau Ram Phoolkanwar, social workers and community representatives including Dharmendra Sahu, Manharan Pithora, Gayadas Sahu, Satish Chandele, Mukesh Sinha, Shravendra Vinayak, Arun Sahu, National President of Panchgavya Doctor Association Dr. Avdhesh Kumar, State Patron Radheshyam Gupta, State President Kiran Sahu and several other members and dignitaries.

Doctors, cattle rearers, farmers, youth and a large number of citizens actively participated in the event.
