Jyoti Kalash to be lit; nine-day religious rituals and havan to be held at Barfani Ashram from March 19 to March 27

Preparations have commenced for the grand celebration of Chaitra Navratri at the revered Maa Patal Bhairavi Raj Rajeshwari Tripur Sundari Dash Mahavidya Dwadash Jyotirling Shiv Shakti Siddhapeeth located at Barfani Ashram in Rajnandgaon. The religious event will be organized from March 19 to March 27, 2026, featuring a series of spiritual rituals, havan ceremonies, and the lighting of sacred Jyoti Kalash.
The celebrations are being organized by the Barfani Seva Ashram Samiti, an institution known across the region and the country for its humanitarian and social service activities. The event will be held under the blessings of National Saint Shri Shri 1011 Yogadhiraj Brahmarshi Barfani Dada Ji.
Providing details about the program, the organization’s secretary Ganesh Prasad Sharma ‘Gannu’ said that Chaitra Navratri, one of the most significant festivals dedicated to Goddess Durga, is celebrated across India with devotion and spiritual practices. At the Barfani Ashram, the festival will be observed with elaborate rituals and prayers in the temple sanctum where the idol of Maa Patal Bhairavi Raj Rajeshwari Tripur Sundari is enshrined.
The Navratri celebrations will begin on March 19, the first day of the Hindu New Year and Navratri. On this day, during the auspicious Abhijit Muhurat from 11:36 AM to 12:24 PM, rituals including Gauri-Ganesh and Navagraha Sthapana along with Guru Pujan will be performed. The ceremony will also mark the lighting of the Mai Jyot and Guru Jyot, followed by the aarti of Maa Durga and Lord Shiva.
After the main rituals, Jyoti Kalash offered by devotees for the fulfillment of their wishes will also be ceremonially lit in the temple premises.

On March 23, which marks the fifth day of Navratri (Panchami), special adornment and worship will be performed for Maa Patal Bhairavi, Maa Raj Rajeshwari Tripur Sundari, the Dash Mahavidya, Lord Pataleshwar Mahadev, the Dwadash Jyotirlingas, as well as deities including Lord Hanuman, Lord Ganesha, and Bhairav Baba.
A major highlight of the celebrations will be the Maha Ashtami Havan, scheduled to take place on March 26 at 6 PM in the yajna shala based on the Shri Yantra within the temple premises. The sacred fire ritual will be performed by members of the organization along with devotees.
The festival will conclude on March 27, which coincides with Ram Navami. On this occasion, a special Maha Aarti of the Goddess will be performed, followed by the celebration of Lord Ram’s birth anniversary and the immersion ceremony of the sacred Jyot and Jwara (Navratri sprouts).
The organizing committee, including President Rajesh Maru, Vice President Deepak Joshi, Secretary Ganesh Prasad Sharma ‘Gannu’, Treasurer Neelam Jain, Mahant Govind Das, and several other members, has appealed to devotees to participate in large numbers and seek the blessings of the Goddess.
The committee has also sought cooperation from the district administration, police department, health department, and municipal corporation to ensure the smooth conduct of the religious event.
