Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and veteran public figure Khubchand Parakh has lauded the Budget 2026–27 presented by Chhattisgarh’s Finance Minister O. P. Choudhary, describing it as a progressive, inclusive and development-oriented fiscal blueprint that will accelerate the pace of growth across the state.
Shri Parakh, who has served the party and the state in several key capacities — including as former Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party (Chhattisgarh), recipient of Cabinet rank status, three-time Vice Chairman of the State Government’s 20-Point Programme Implementation Committee, current member of the BJP National Council, and Patron of the Chhattisgarh Chamber of Commerce — stated that the Budget is firmly aligned with the vision of Viksit Bharat and reflects a balanced approach to sectoral and regional development.

Terming the Budget as “growth-driven and fiscally prudent,” the senior BJP stalwart observed that the allocation for construction of two barrages aimed at providing irrigation facilities to approximately 8,000 acres of agricultural land will significantly enhance farm productivity and strengthen rural incomes. The proposed expansion of canal networks further underscores the government’s commitment to sustainable agricultural infrastructure and water resource management.
Highlighting the social sector commitments, Shri Parakh noted that the establishment of separate hostels for SC, ST and OBC women students will provide a strong impetus to women’s education and inclusive empowerment. He further welcomed the announcement of three new medical colleges and the construction of 220-bed new buildings in several existing medical institutions, calling it a decisive step toward strengthening healthcare infrastructure and medical education capacity in the state.
He also described the announcement of a Physiotherapy College in Rajnandgaon — facilitated through the proactive efforts of the Hon’ble Speaker — as a landmark initiative that will expand academic opportunities and healthcare services in the region.
Referring to the five flagship missions of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Shri Parakh remarked that the Budget effectively integrates these priority areas into actionable programmes. The allocation of ₹100 crore for sports infrastructure development will nurture emerging talent and pave the way for producing national-level athletes. Similarly, expanded road connectivity and a strengthened infrastructure grid will catalyze industrial growth and improve logistical efficiency across districts.

The senior BJP leader further emphasized that investment-linked incentives for industries will enhance investor confidence and position Chhattisgarh as a competitive destination for manufacturing and enterprise. He appreciated the efforts of former Chief Minister Raman Singh in laying the foundational infrastructure in Rajnandgaon, which, he said, will now attract new industries and generate employment opportunities.
In conclusion, Shri Khubchand Parakh stated that the overarching objective of the Budget is to ensure equitable and sustainable development across all regions of the state, build a future-ready workforce, create diversified livelihood opportunities, empower weaker sections to become growth leaders, and equip the youth of Chhattisgarh with modern skills in line with emerging economic demands. He expressed confidence that this forward-looking and structurally sound Budget will usher in a new era of prosperity and balanced development for the state.
