Chikhli Outpost Police Take Swift Action; Accused Booked Under Arms Act and Sent to Jail

As part of a special drive to ensure peace and public safety in the city, Chikhli Chowki police carried out a decisive operation, arresting two habitual offenders who were reportedly threatening pedestrians by waving knives in a public area.
The action was taken under the direction of Superintendent of Police Ms Ankita Sharma, with guidance from Additional Superintendent of Police Mr Kirtan Rathore and supervision of City Superintendent of Police Ms Vaishali Jain.
According to police officials, during routine night patrolling on February 4, personnel noticed two youths creating panic among passersby by displaying sharp weapons near the Shankarpur community toilet. Acting promptly, the police cordoned off the area and apprehended both suspects.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Sevak Kashyap alias Chhotu (22) and Chandu alias Dev Nayak (18 years and 4 months), residents of Shankarpur under Chikhli Outpost, Kotwali Police Station limits, Rajnandgaon district.
During a personal search, police recovered one sharp iron knife and one knife-like gupti from the accused. A case was registered against them under Sections 25 and 27 of the Arms Act. Both were produced before the court and subsequently remanded to judicial custody.

Police authorities stated that the ongoing campaign against illegal ganja and liquor sales, anti-social elements, and public drinking will continue with strict enforcement across the district.
The successful operation was carried out by Chikhli Outpost In-Charge Sub-Inspector Kailash Chandra Marai along with Constables Arun Kumar Netam, Vandana Patle, Sunil Bairagi, Chandrakapur Aayam, Gopal Paikra, Saurabh Burade, Tameshwar Bhuarya, Nageshwar Sahu, and other Chikhli Chowki staff, whose efforts were widely appreciated.
