As the paddy procurement season progresses, preparations across Rajnandgaon district are in full swing to ensure a smooth and transparent purchase process. In this context, operators of paddy procurement centres were given essential training by master trainers from the Food Department and MARKFED at the conference hall of the Rajnandgaon District Cooperative Central Bank.
The training session was conducted in the presence of Additional Collector Prem Prakash Sharma and other senior officials. During the workshop, operators were instructed on the implementation of the Aadhaar-based biometric procurement system, which will remain mandatory to maintain transparency in paddy purchases. Farmers will sell their paddy either through self-verification or via their registered nominees using biometric authentication.

To address potential issues related to biometric failure, a “Trusted Person” appointed by the Collector will be available at each procurement centre. Trainers also informed participants that both new and old gunny bags will be used during paddy lifting operations.
All computer operators received technical guidance related to data entry, Aadhaar authentication, stock management, and operational procedures at the procurement centres. Additional instructions were provided on proper stacking, maintenance of storage facilities, and smooth handling of procured paddy.
The session was attended by representatives from BRC, Rajnandgaon District Cooperative Central Bank, and various procurement centre operators, ensuring readiness for the upcoming procurement drive.
