Mayor Madhusudan Yadav Felicitates Athletes Ahead of National-Level Championship at SVPNPA

In a proud moment for Rajnandgaon, three police personnel from the district have been selected to represent the Chhattisgarh Police in the 73rd All India Police Aquatics and Cross-Country Cluster 2025–26 competition scheduled to be held from February 23 to 26 at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy in Hyderabad.
The selection has generated enthusiasm within the police department as well as among sports enthusiasts across the district. Following approval from the Director General of Police, Police Headquarters Nava Raipur Atal Nagar permitted a 22-member Chhattisgarh Police contingent to participate in the national-level event.
The Rajnandgaon police personnel selected for the competition include Constable Kamta Yadav (No. 740) in the men’s cross-country category, Constable Ravi Sinha (No. 1030) from the 8th Battalion in swimming, and Constable Shankar Sinha (No. 814) from the 20th Battalion in swimming events.
Before departing for Hyderabad, the three athletes paid a courtesy visit to Rajnandgaon Mayor and former Member of Parliament Madhusudan Yadav at his residence. The Mayor congratulated the players and encouraged them to deliver outstanding performances that would bring recognition not only to Rajnandgaon but also to the Chhattisgarh Police. He also interacted with the athletes regarding their preparation and extended his best wishes and blessings for the competition.
The players informed that they had undergone specialized training under coaches Chhabilal Yadu, Rakesh Sinha, and Yashwant Sinha, which they believe will help them perform better at the national championship.

Meanwhile, members of the Rajnandgaon Police family, along with departmental officers and staff, have conveyed their best wishes to the athletes, expressing confidence that they will achieve commendable results and enhance the district’s prestige through their performance.
The All India Police sports competitions are considered one of the most prestigious sporting platforms for police personnel across the country, promoting fitness, discipline, and inter-force camaraderie.
