Collector Shri Jitendra Yadav on Monday conducted a comprehensive review of the functioning of school principals, cluster coordinators, Block Education Officers (BEOs), and Block Resource Coordinators (BRCs) at the auditorium of Dr Baldev Prasad Mishra Government Higher Secondary School, Basantpur.

Addressing the meeting, the Collector said that teachers play a vital role in shaping the future of children and act as change-makers who bring positive transformation to society. He stressed that all teachers must work with complete dedication and commitment to improve students’ examination results, especially in Classes 10 and 12.

He urged teachers to provide proper guidance to students to help them achieve better academic outcomes. Emphasising reading habits, the Collector suggested developing community buildings in rural areas as libraries to cultivate a culture of reading among children. He said that along with continuous study, regular practice is essential for enhancing creativity and academic performance.

The Collector also highlighted the importance of maintaining continuity in learning during winter vacations. He directed teachers to assign homework during holidays so that students remain academically engaged. A detailed review was conducted of schools where the pass percentage in Classes 10 and 12 was below 60 percent.

Expressing concern over social challenges, the Collector advised teachers to guide students away from substance abuse and criminal tendencies. “Children are the future of the nation. With the right guidance and protection today, they will serve the country in various fields tomorrow,” he said.
