Collector Reviews Performance of Principals, Cluster Coordinators, BEOs and BRCs; Stresses Dedication to Improve Board Results

Collector Shri Jitendra Yadav on Monday conducted a comprehensive review of the functioning of school principals, cluster coordinators, Block Education Officers (BEOs), and Block Resource Coordinators (BRCs) at the auditorium of Dr Baldev Prasad Mishra Government Higher Secondary School, Basantpur.
Addressing the meeting, the Collector said that teachers play a vital role in shaping the future of children and act as change-makers who bring positive transformation to society. He stressed that all teachers must work with complete dedication and commitment to improve students’ examination results, especially in Classes 10 and 12.
He urged teachers to provide proper guidance to students to help them achieve better academic outcomes. Emphasising reading habits, the Collector suggested developing community buildings in rural areas as libraries to cultivate a culture of reading among children. He said that along with continuous study, regular practice is essential for enhancing creativity and academic performance.
The Collector also highlighted the importance of maintaining continuity in learning during winter vacations. He directed teachers to assign homework during holidays so that students remain academically engaged. A detailed review was conducted of schools where the pass percentage in Classes 10 and 12 was below 60 percent.
Expressing concern over social challenges, the Collector advised teachers to guide students away from substance abuse and criminal tendencies. “Children are the future of the nation. With the right guidance and protection today, they will serve the country in various fields tomorrow,” he said.

He called for better coordination among teachers and education officers and held discussions on improving the overall quality of education. Teachers were encouraged to motivate students towards consistent study habits and academic discipline.
Special focus was laid on preparations for board examinations. The Collector directed officials to regularly monitor students’ progress through tests and assessments, ensuring visible improvement in learning outcomes.
During the review meeting, various academic and administrative aspects were assessed, including online classes, question banks, subject-wise weakness analysis, targets for the academic year 2025–26, details of students scoring above 80 percent, pending applications on the leave portal, pension cases, school infrastructure works, utilisation of school grants, PM e-Vidya, biometric attendance, INSPIRE Awards, online class videos, and entry of half-yearly examination results.
District Education Officer Shri Pravas Singh Baghel said that schools facing teacher shortages could utilise smart classrooms and subject expert teachers for support. He also emphasised the importance of biometric attendance and urged teachers to work diligently for the success of students appearing in Classes 10 and 12 board examinations.
The meeting was attended by Joint Director of Education, Durg Division, Shri B.L. Thakur, District Coordinator Shri Satish Byohare, along with other officials, principals, cluster coordinators, BEOs and BRCs.
