Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti Dr. Raj Bhushan Choudhary reviewed water conservation and groundwater recharge works in Rajnandgaon, praising the district’s innovative water management model as an example for the nation.

A district-level workshop on groundwater recharge and water conservation was organised at the District Panchayat conference hall in Rajnandgaon under the chairmanship of Dr D. Gyan Sundar, Regional Director, Central Ground Water Board, Chhattisgarh. Officials and technical experts discussed scientific methods of rainwater harvesting, groundwater augmentation and sustainable water management, emphasising inter-departmental coordination and public participation.

MP Santosh Pandey inspected rainwater harvesting and recharge structures in Farhad village under Mission Jal Raksha, urging the community to treat water conservation as a collective responsibility. Over 1,600 percolation tanks have already been built in the district, making significant strides in groundwater recharge.
