Union Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat on Thursday described Chhattisgarh as the new “growth engine” of India’s development, as he and Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai laid the foundation stone for the ambitious Bhoramdev Corridor project in Kabirdham district. Built at a cost of ₹146 crore under Swadesh Darshan Scheme 2.0, the project aims to develop Bhoramdev into a world-class spiritual and heritage tourism destination on the lines of Ujjain and Varanasi.
Under the Chief Minister Teerth Darshan Yojana, 800 pilgrims from four districts were flagged off from Rajnandgaon to visit Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Bharat Mata Temple aboard the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train.
Tourism Minister Rajesh Agrawal flagged off a special train from Rajnandgaon carrying 650 pilgrims from Durg and Bastar divisions to Ayodhya under the Shri Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana. The send-off, marked by chants of “Jai Shri Ram” and festive music, reflected the joy and devotion of the participants.
In a grand send-off ceremony, 850 devotees from Raipur district embarked on a sacred journey to Ayodhya Dham and Kashi Vishwanath under the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board’s flagship “Ram Lalla Darshan Ayodhya Dham Yojana,” designed to connect citizens with India’s rich spiritual heritage.
The Ram Lalla Darshan Yojana special train will depart from Rajnandgaon for the first time on August 6, thanks to the efforts of Tourism Board Chairman Neelu Sharma. The train will carry 850 pilgrims from Durg and Bastar divisions to Ayodhya Dham, furthering the state’s mission of connecting people with spiritual heritage.
On the first Monday of Sawan, Ujjain witnessed a grand and divine procession of Baba Mahakal, as thousands of devotees gathered to receive his blessings. The event, known for showcasing ‘Mini Madhya Pradesh,’ was marked by spiritual fervor and cultural pride. With ministers participating in the sacred journey every Monday, the procession reflects the rich traditions of Sawan and the unwavering devotion of the people.
