PESA Day was observed on December 24 in three village panchayats of Manpur block in Rajnandgaon district with the objective of empowering tribal and forest-dependent communities. The programme focused on creating awareness about the Panchayats (Extension to Scheduled Areas) Act, 1996, and reinforcing the role of Gram Sabhas in local governance and natural resource management.
