Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav carried out a surprise inspection of the District Hospital in Basantpur, reviewing healthcare services, cleanliness, and patient facilities while directing officials to ensure better hygiene, adequate medicines, and respectful behaviour toward patients and their families.

A review meeting on the Special Intensive Revision with January 1, 2026 as the qualifying date was held in Rajnandgaon in the presence of Durg Division Commissioner and Roll Observer Satyanarayan Rathore, where officials assured political parties that all claims and objections would be resolved through due constitutional process before final publication of voter lists on February 21.

Rajnandgaon celebrated the 77th Republic Day with grandeur at Digvijay Stadium as Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh hoisted the national flag and honoured 78 police personnel for exemplary service. Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav reviewed paddy procurement operations with agriculture officials, patwaris, society managers and data operators, directing faster lifting of paddy, strict action against illegal transport by middlemen, and improved storage arrangements at procurement centres. He emphasized resolving AgriStack portal issues related to farmer registration and land record corrections to ensure smooth procurement and timely support to farmers.

Rajnandgaon Mayor Madhusudan Yadav was rushed to Raipur late Saturday night after his health suddenly deteriorated. Following medical evaluation and precautionary ICU admission, doctors confirmed his condition is stable, with all reports normal. He has now been shifted to a general ward.

Ahead of the Chhattisgarh Teacher Eligibility Test (CG TET) 2026 scheduled for February 1, the Rajnandgaon district administration conducted detailed training for examination observers, focusing on security protocols, confidentiality measures, technical procedures and strict adherence to timelines.
