Rajnandgaon district administration has seized illegal paddy worth over ₹7.93 crore and 19 vehicles so far during the Kharif Marketing Year 2025–26, as strict action continues against middlemen and illegal traders.
Acting on the directives of Collector Jitendra Yadav, the Rajnandgaon district administration has intensified its crackdown on illegal paddy procurement. On 3 December, joint teams seized 649.60 quintals of illegal paddy worth ₹20.13 lakh across six cases. With this, total seizures during the Kharif Marketing Year 2025-26 have risen to 17,621.86 quintals valued at over ₹5.46 crore, along with eight vehicles. Officials have warned that repeat offenders and middlemen may soon face criminal cases.
Under Collector Jitendra Yadav’s strict directives, joint teams of Revenue, Food, and Mandi Departments seized 215.60 quintals of illegal paddy on Saturday. With this, total seizures in the current season have touched 123 cases across the district.
Acting on the directives of Collector Jitendra Yadav, authorities in Rajnandgaon have ramped up enforcement against illegal paddy trade. With fresh seizures recorded on November 29, the district has now confiscated over 15,457 quintals of illegal paddy and eight vehicles since the start of the 2025–26 Kharif marketing season.
Rajnandgaon district intensified its crackdown on illegal paddy trade, seizing 207 quintals in a single day and pushing total seizures this season to 3,859 quintals valued at ₹1.19 crore. The administration warned middlemen of potential criminal action and deployed 24-hour teams at inter-state check-posts to curb unauthorized grain movement.
