With fresh seizures recorded on November 29, the district has now confiscated over 15,457 quintals of illegal paddy and eight vehicles since the start of the 2025–26 Kharif marketing season.
Zila Panchayat member and Congress leader Mahendra Yadav has alleged that the Collector has orally instructed procurement societies in Dongargaon area to reduce paddy purchase, triggering widespread anger among farmers.
