Chhattisgarh Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap highlighted the government's focus on forest conservation alongside the prosperity of forest-dependent communities. He said over 3.67 crore saplings have been planted across 62,441 acres under the Kisan Vriksh Mitra Scheme, while the state's tiger population has increased from 18 in 2022 to 35 in 2026.

Trainee Indian Forest Service officers underwent intensive practical training in DGPS-based surveys and wildlife management at Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary. The programme highlighted modern technologies, IT-enabled forest governance, and digital tools such as the “Gaj Sanket” app, aimed at strengthening conservation efforts across Chhattisgarh.

On the occasion of International Biodiversity Day, the Forest Awareness Centre at Mangta in Rajnandgaon hosted a special event to highlight the significance of biodiversity and the need for its conservation. Experts shared insights into local biodiversity, and a photo gallery showcasing the rich natural heritage of Rajnandgaon was displayed. The event underscored the vital role of collaborative efforts between the Forest Department and the local community in preserving ecological balance.
