Chhattisgarh Tourism Board Chairman Neelu Sharma reviewed public grievances during a Jan Darshan programme in Rajnandgaon and directed officials to ensure prompt action. He said the initiative aims to accelerate grievance redressal while ensuring government welfare schemes reach every eligible beneficiary.

Senior citizen and retired engineer Ramratan Sinha, father of Rajnandgaon councillor Ravi Sinha, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday. His funeral was attended by public representatives, social workers and citizens, who paid their final respects and expressed condolences to the bereaved family.

Collector Jitendra Yadav has directed health officials to intensify efforts to reduce maternal and infant mortality in Rajnandgaon through regular monitoring of high-risk pregnancies, faster HPV vaccination and strengthened healthcare services. The district has also reported a decline in maternal and infant deaths, while free treatment continues for breast cancer patients and children under the Chirayu Scheme.

Basantpur Police in Rajnandgaon recovered 25 lost mobile phones worth approximately ₹3.75 lakh and returned them to their rightful owners as part of an ongoing recovery campaign. Beneficiaries praised the police for their swift action and technical investigation.
