The Department of Women and Child Development has initiated a special campaign to enroll new eligible beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) by August 15. The initiative aims to extend financial support to pregnant and lactating women, especially those yet to benefit from the scheme, through direct benefit transfers.

Rajnandgaon Collector Dr. Sarvesh N. Bhure conducted a detailed inspection of several remote villages and the Dhara Reservoir in Dongargarh block to evaluate progress under major government schemes. His field visit emphasized the need for timely execution, community participation, and sustainable development to uplift rural areas.

Under the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, expectant mothers in India are receiving timely financial incentives aimed at promoting prenatal health and child immunization. Administered through Anganwadi centers, the scheme offers ₹5,000 in two installments for the first child and a lump sum of ₹6,000 for a second daughter, helping improve maternal care and gender equity.

In a heartfelt gesture to promote child nutrition and combat malnutrition, several local leaders including BJP Tilai Mandal President Pardeshi Sonboira visited the Anganwadi center in Devdongar. They distributed packets of dry fruits like cashews, raisins, almonds, and bananas to children, and shared awareness on Ready-to-Eat food programs with local women.
