Marking Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday celebrations with the nationwide Seva Pakhwada from September 17 to October 2, the Social Welfare Department in Rajnandgaon has launched a major outreach program to support differently-abled citizens (Divyangjans). On the very first day of the campaign, the department flagged off the Divyangjan Seva Rath from the Collectorate premises, aimed at spreading awareness and delivering government scheme information directly to people’s doorsteps.

Awareness Drive in 110 Villages
The specially designed Seva Rath will cover 110 villages of Chhuriya block, reaching out to Divyangjans and their families. Officials onboard the Rath are not only sharing details of government welfare schemes but also collecting data based on 21 specific disability categories. This initiative will help the administration in identifying beneficiaries more effectively and ensuring that government aid reaches the right people.
Upcoming Disability Service Camps
As part of the ongoing Seva Pakhwada, the Social Welfare Department has also scheduled a series of Divyangjan Service Camps across the district’s Janpad Panchayats between September 20 and 28, 2025. The schedule is as follows:
- September 20: Janpad Panchayat Dongargarh
- September 26: Janpad Panchayat Dongargaon
- September 27: Janpad Panchayat Chhuriya
- September 28: Janpad Panchayat Rajnandgaon
These camps will provide a one-stop solution for various government services, including:
- New Aadhaar card enrollment and corrections
- Ayushman Bharat health card registration
- Issuance of transport passes
- Enrollment for additional ration benefits
- Applications for disability pension and pension corrections
- Applications for marriage incentives for Divyangjans
- Assessment and distribution of assistive devices
- Measurement and assessment for artificial limbs and other support systems
Appeal for Maximum Participation
The department has appealed to all eligible Divyangjans to participate in large numbers and take advantage of the schemes. Authorities have emphasized that these services will ease access to welfare benefits while reducing paperwork hurdles.

Commitment to Social Welfare
The initiative is part of Chhattisgarh’s Silver Jubilee celebrations and aligns with the ongoing service-oriented programs under Seva Pakhwada. By combining doorstep awareness through the Seva Rath with service delivery through local camps, the administration aims to ensure inclusivity and empowerment of differently-abled citizens.
Officials highlighted that such initiatives not only provide immediate benefits but also reinforce the government’s long-term commitment to improving the quality of life for marginalized sections of society.
