Farmers Report Smooth Procurement Process; Emphasis Laid on Clean, Dry, and Quality Paddy for Marketing Year 2025–26

As part of the ongoing preparations for the Kharif Marketing Year 2025–26, Secretary Avinash Champawat conducted a comprehensive inspection of paddy procurement centers across Rajnandgaon district. The visit covered centers located in Bherregaon, Singhola, Dhaba, Gathula, Padumtala, Dumardihkala, Rengakathera, Sukuldaihan, Bhanpuri, Musarkala, and Belgaon.

During his inspection, Champawat interacted with farmers to assess the facilities being provided at the procurement centers. He reviewed the quality of paddy arriving at the centers, examined moisture levels using moisture meters, and observed the weighing process carried out through electronic weighing machines.

Farmers informed him that the procurement process was running smoothly without any inconvenience. They confirmed that all necessary arrangements had been made at the centers. The Secretary also reviewed the use of online token systems, weighing procedures, and the involvement of intermediaries. Farmers shared that, following a good monsoon, paddy production is expected to be higher this season, and the inflow of paddy into procurement centers will increase accordingly.

They also stated that farmers are receiving procurement tokens through the Token Tumhar Hath mobile app. Champawat examined the availability of gunny bags, stacking arrangements, storage facilities, and other necessary provisions. At the Dhaba procurement center, he also reviewed the functioning of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samriddhi Kendra.

Champawat emphasized that only clean, dry, and high-quality paddy should be procured during the season. He also reviewed the classification of paddy varieties including thick, thin, and sarna types. Additionally, he inspected computer systems, printers, internet connectivity, manpower availability, lighting, drinking water, and other essential facilities at the centers.

All societies have displayed flex boards informing farmers about procurement timings and documents required, including token slips, farmer passbooks, Aadhaar cards, bank passbooks, and registration copies.

The inspection was attended by Additional Collector Prem Prakash Sharma, District Food Officer Ravindra Soni, SDM Rajnandgaon Gautamchand Patil, CEO of District Cooperative Central Bank Rajnandgaon Sudhir Soni, DMO Hina Khan, other officials, and several farmers.
