DEOs and BEOs instructed to increase field visits, strengthen monitoring, improve exam results, and ensure effective implementation of policies from primary to senior classes

School Education Minister Shri Gajendra Yadav on Tuesday held a detailed review meeting of the School Education Department for the Durg division at the District Panchayat meeting hall. The review covered districts including Durg, Balod, Bemetara, Rajnandgaon, Kabirdham, Khairagarh–Chhuikhadan–Gandai, and Mohla–Manpur–Ambagarh Chowki.
The Minister directed all District Education Officers (DEOs) and Block Education Officers (BEOs) to ensure education quality through regular field visits. “The impact of these visits must be visible at the ground level,” he said, adding that classroom teaching standards must be consistently high.
Strict review of teacher rationalisation and compliance
Shri Yadav conducted an in-depth review of teacher transfers under the rationalisation policy. He instructed that disciplinary action be taken against teachers who have not yet joined their new postings as per government guidelines.

He emphasised the need for special focus on remote and tribal regions, ensuring that teaching and learning activities continue uninterrupted. The Minister also underlined the importance of geo-tagging and regular monitoring of teacher attendance, directing officers to ensure accountability.
Improving exam results and academic standards
The Minister called upon teachers to work with dedication to improve examination results. “Hard work by teachers will reflect in outstanding student performance,” he stated.
He highlighted the need for:
- Providing a positive learning environment
- Ensuring no child drops out of school
- Building strong interest and continuity in learning
- Conducting year-long teaching activities as per academic plans
Shri Yadav stressed that primary school students must memorise multiplication tables thoroughly, and teachers should receive necessary training for effective pedagogy. He also expressed satisfaction over the progress of APAR (Annual Performance Assessment Report) ID creation in Rajnandgaon.
RTE admissions and monitoring of private schools
The Minister instructed officials to ensure strict monitoring of admissions and studies of students admitted to private schools under the Right to Education (RTE) Act.
He also reviewed parameters including:
- Class 10th and 12th results for 2024–25 and targets for 2025–26
- Number of students expected to score above 80% and 90%
- Multiplication table proficiency (20 tables for Classes 3–5, 25 tables for Classes 6–8)
- Remedial teaching for academically weak students
- Status of building-less schools
- Progress of model schools, Samagra Shiksha, PM Shri Schools, and PM e-Vidya usage
Senior officials highlight monitoring and structured teaching
School Education Department Secretary Shri Siddharth Komal Singh Pardeshi said that online attendance is crucial for improving teacher accountability. He called for continuous efforts to reduce dropouts and instructed DEOs and BEOs to conduct field visits regularly.

Director of Public Instruction Shri Rituraj Raghuvanshi highlighted the remedial teaching framework for weak performers, urging schools to utilise Saturday Bagless Day for strengthening learning.
Commissioner, Samagra Shiksha, Dr. Priyanka Shukla stressed planned teaching and early focus on Classes 9 and 11 to improve Class 10 and 12 results.
District-level initiatives in Rajnandgaon
Collector Shri Jitendra Yadav informed that Rajnandgaon district is promoting a unique initiative called “Padhai Ka Kona”, encouraging dedicated study spaces at home. He also said PTMs should be used effectively to motivate parents to support their children academically.
He briefed the Minister about the ongoing online coaching for NEET and JEE aspirants in the district.
Officials including CEO Zila Panchayat Ms. Suruchi Singh, Joint Director Education Durg B.L. Thakur, DEO Rajnandgaon Shri Pravas Singh Baghel, and other senior officers were present and shared their experiences regarding improving teaching quality.
