On February 13, 2026, police used the Central Equipment Identity Register (CEIR) portal to track and recover mobile phones belonging to various brands, with an estimated total value of approximately ₹1,50,000. Police officials stated that prompt action was taken on complaints received at Basantpur police station, resulting in the successful recovery. Citizens expressed gratitude toward the Rajnandgaon district police after receiving their lost phones.
Officials also highlighted that in January 2026, a similar operation led to the recovery of 12 mobile phones worth around ₹1,70,000, which were also returned to their owners. Authorities confirmed that the campaign to trace lost or stolen mobile devices will continue in the future.
Inspector Aiman Sahu appealed to the public that if anyone finds an abandoned or lost mobile phone, they should avoid using it and instead submit it to the nearest police station so it can be returned to its rightful owner.
The operation involved Inspector Aiman Sahu, CCTNS constable Bhawani Thanapati, Constable Bhuneshwar Jaisi, and other police staff, whose efforts were appreciated by senior officials.
