Rajnandgaon News: IG Provides Guidance at One-Day Police Training on RTI and Departmental Inquiry

Training programme at Police Line Rajnandgaon focuses on transparency, procedural accuracy, and protection of human rights in police custody

A one-day training programme on the Right to Information (RTI) and departmental inquiry procedures was organized at Police Line Rajnandgaon under the guidance of Inspector General of Police, Rajnandgaon Range, Balaji Rao (IPS).

The training aimed to enhance administrative efficiency, legal awareness, and procedural clarity among police officers while strengthening transparency and accountability within the police department.


Senior Officers Share Key Administrative Insights

The programme was conducted in the presence of Additional Superintendent of Police Geeta Wadhwani, Additional Superintendent of Police D.C. Patel, and Deputy Superintendent of Police Navi Monika Pandey, who guided participating officers on important administrative aspects.

During the session, retired Deputy Superintendent of Police Vedram Bhaskar highlighted common errors occurring during departmental inquiries and explained the necessary precautions required to ensure fair and lawful investigations.


Detailed Session on Right to Information (RTI)

Retired Deputy Superintendent of Police Rakesh Joshi delivered a detailed presentation explaining provisions of the Right to Information Act. He elaborated on categories of information that can be shared under RTI and those restricted under specific legal provisions, helping officers better understand compliance requirements.

The session emphasized the importance of maintaining transparency while safeguarding sensitive information as per legal norms.

On the occasion, Inspector General Balaji Rao provided extensive guidance on safeguarding human rights during police custody, preventing violations, and strengthening the positive image of the police in society.

He stressed that adherence to legal procedures, ethical conduct, and public accountability are essential for building trust between law enforcement agencies and citizens.


Participation from Across Rajnandgaon Range

Police officers from various units across the Rajnandgaon Range attended the training programme, making it a significant capacity-building initiative for strengthening departmental functioning.
