Rajnandgaon Mayor urges citizens to avoid unnecessary outdoor movement as rising temperatures and heatwave conditions pose serious health risks

Amid severe summer conditions and continuously rising temperatures, Mayor Madhusudan Yadav has issued an important public appeal focusing on the safety and well-being of city residents. He urged citizens to avoid unnecessary outdoor activities and adopt precautionary measures to protect themselves from the dangerous effects of heatwaves.
Mayor Issues Public Safety Advisory
The Mayor stated that intense sunlight and hot winds, commonly known as heatwave conditions, can prove extremely harmful to health. He emphasized that elderly citizens, children, and individuals suffering from illnesses need to remain particularly cautious during this period.
He advised residents to avoid stepping out during afternoon hours, drink sufficient water, and wear light cotton clothing to minimize the impact of extreme heat.
Avoid Ignoring Extreme Weather Conditions
Highlighting common public negligence during peak summer, the Mayor noted that many people continue to venture outdoors for non-essential work despite harsh weather conditions. Such behavior, he warned, could lead to serious health complications.
“Do not fight seasonal heat unnecessarily,” he said, appealing to citizens to adjust their routines according to natural climatic conditions and prioritize personal safety.

The Rajnandgaon Municipal Corporation is also taking necessary steps to address the situation. Arrangements related to drinking water supply, shaded public spaces, and awareness initiatives are being strengthened across the city to assist residents during the ongoing heatwave.
Seeking public cooperation, the Mayor reiterated that precaution remains the most effective protection against heat-related illnesses.
