Jitendra Yadav Visits Beneficiary’s Home in Sundara Village, Highlights Electricity Bill Savings and Calls for Greater Public Awareness

Rajnandgaon Collector Jitendra Yadav visited Sundara village in Rajnandgaon development block on Tuesday to inspect a rooftop solar panel installation under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. During the visit, he inspected the system installed at the residence of beneficiary Purnima Nishad and discussed the benefits of the scheme, particularly the savings on electricity bills.
Beneficiary Reports Financial Relief from Rooftop Solar Panels
Purnima Nishad informed the Collector that she had installed a 3-kilowatt rooftop solar panel system at her home under the scheme. She stated that generating electricity through solar energy had provided relief from electricity expenses.
Describing the initiative as financially beneficial for her family, Nishad expressed satisfaction with the scheme and its benefits.
Collector Emphasises Clean Energy and Self-Reliance
Yadav said the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana is an important initiative towards making citizens self-reliant in the energy sector.
He highlighted that installing solar panels on residential rooftops not only helps households save on electricity bills but also contributes to environmental protection and promotes the use of clean energy.
Officials Asked to Expand Awareness of the Scheme
The Collector stressed the need for widespread public awareness to connect more citizens with the scheme. He directed the concerned officials to intensify publicity and provide necessary guidance to eligible and interested residents regarding the application process and solar panel installation.

Government Subsidies Support Rooftop Solar Installations
Under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, eligible citizens are provided subsidies in accordance with government provisions for installing solar panels on their rooftops. The scheme offers domestic electricity consumers an opportunity to reduce their household power expenses.
District Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Durga Prasad Adhikari was also present during the visit.
