On the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi participated in a special program at Lohna North Gram Panchayat in Madhubani district, Bihar. Through video conferencing, the Prime Minister connected with various gram panchayats across the country, including Gram Panchayat Gathula from Rajnandgaon district.
During the interaction, beneficiaries and local representatives from Gathula shared insights into the ongoing development initiatives at the panchayat level. They discussed the positive impact of various government schemes, which have significantly improved the living standards of rural residents.
Prime Minister Modi praised the strengthening of the Panchayati Raj system and highlighted the government’s efforts to make gram panchayats self-reliant. He stressed the importance of digital transformation through the Digital India campaign, advocating for increased e-governance and transparency in local governance. The event was a significant step in promoting democratic participation at the grassroots level.
In attendance were District Panchayat President, members of the district and block panchayats, Chief Executive Officer of the District Panchayat, Ms. Suruchi Singh, along with other representatives, officers, and a large number of villagers.
