The Chhattisgarh State Power Company has issued a public advisory urging electricity consumers to remain alert and cautious in order to avoid falling victim to cyber fraud. The company has warned that cyber criminals are attempting to deceive consumers by circulating suspicious links and APK files in the name of the Chief Minister’s Electricity Bill Payment Settlement Scheme.
According to information provided by the Managing Director of the power company, Bhim Singh, consumers should avoid clicking on any unknown links received through WhatsApp, email, or SMS for registration or payment under the scheme. The company clarified that it never sends APK files or unofficial web links related to its services or schemes.
Officials emphasized that fraudsters may attempt to lure consumers by sending fake download links claiming to provide access to the electricity bill settlement scheme. Consumers have been strongly advised not to download any such files or applications.
The power company further stated that to ensure the benefits of the Chief Minister’s Electricity Bill Payment Settlement Scheme reach consumers, the company will organize camps at the field level. Consumers are encouraged to complete their registration or make payments only through official and verified channels.
Consumers have been advised to make electricity bill payments exclusively through the Mor Bijli mobile application, the official website of the power company, authorized ATP centers, or the nearest electricity office. They have also been cautioned against making payments directly to field staff or unknown individuals.
