The transformer was commissioned under the Chief Minister’s Power Infrastructure Development Scheme with the objective of ensuring reliable and quality electricity supply to remote villages at optimal voltage levels.

The energization ceremony was led by CSPDCL’s Executive Director of Rajnandgaon Region, Mr. Shirish Selat. Present on the occasion were Superintending Engineer Mr. S. Kanwar, Executive Engineers Mr. B.K. Uike, Mr. M.K. Sahu, Mr. A.D. Tandon, Assistant Engineers Mr. R.P. Dongargaon Division’s Executive Engineer Mr. Birbal Uike informed that the new transformer, installed at a cost of ₹1.35 crore, will benefit over 1,150 electricity consumers across the villages of Latmeta, Charbhanta, Motipur, Kulhadi, Nadia, and Ghupsal. With this addition, the total capacity of the Kumarada substation has increased from 6.60 MVA to 8.15 MVA.

The project reflects CSPDCL’s commitment to enhancing rural electrification and improving the quality of power for both domestic consumers and farmers. The capacity expansion is expected to reduce voltage fluctuations and load shedding, thereby supporting agricultural productivity and daily household operations in the region.
