Police Identify Accident-Prone Black Spots to Curb Rising Road Mishaps in Rajnandgaon

District Police Map High-Risk Locations Police-Station-Wise; Appeal to Citizens for Strict Traffic Rule Compliance

In view of the alarming rise in road accidents across Rajnandgaon district, the police have identified multiple accident-prone “black spots” where the risk of mishaps remains exceptionally high. Frequent road accidents have been claiming lives and causing serious injuries, prompting the district police to adopt focused preventive measures.

As part of an accident-prevention strategy, Rajnandgaon Police have mapped these vulnerable locations police-station-wise to ensure enhanced vigilance, improved traffic regulation, and greater public awareness regarding road safety. Special monitoring and preventive action will be undertaken at these identified points to minimize accidents.

According to police officials, factors such as overspeeding, negligent driving, poor visibility at junctions, damaged road stretches, and lack of traffic discipline contribute significantly to accidents at these spots.

  • Somni Police Station: Tedesara Chowk, Khuteri Chowk, Devada Chowk, bridge near Bliss Hotel
  • Kotwali Police Station: Parreenala, Ramdarbar Chowk, BJP Office Chowk
  • Chikhli Police Outpost: Chikhli Flyover, Gathula Nala
  • Basantpur Police Station: R.K. Nagar Chowk, Ambedkar Chowk, Mohara Bypass to Singdai Chowk stretch
  • Dongargarh Police Station: Mudpar Puliya, Kedarwadi Naka Para turn, Khairagarh Road near gas agency
  • Dongargaon Police Station: Near roadside dhaba ahead of Mathaldabri on Chhuriya Road
  • Lalbagh Police Station: Barga turn, Pendri G.E. Road residential area, Rewagahan, Bhanpuri G.E. Road residential area, Farhad Chowk

Police Appeal to Citizens:
Rajnandgaon Police have urged all motorists to exercise extreme caution and maintain reduced speed while passing through the identified black spots. Strict adherence to traffic rules is essential, police said. Drivers have been strongly advised against drunken driving, while two-wheeler riders must wear helmets and four-wheeler drivers must use seat belts.

Police authorities emphasized that collective vigilance and responsible driving behavior by citizens are crucial to reducing road accidents and ensuring safer roads across the district.
