Camp organised by ALIMCO and Social Welfare Department; beneficiaries to receive tricycles, wheelchairs, hearing aids and other assistive devices

More than 150 persons with disabilities registered for free assistive devices during an assessment camp organised in Rajnandgaon. The camp was held at the Gandhi Sabhagruh Rajnandgaon to identify eligible beneficiaries from the Municipal Corporation and Janpad Panchayat areas.
The camp was organised by the Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO), Jabalpur, under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative with support from the Agriculture Insurance Company of India Limited and in collaboration with the state Social Welfare Department.
During the camp, persons with disabilities from different age groups underwent assessment and registered to receive assistive devices according to their needs. Officials said the registered beneficiaries will soon be provided with the required equipment after verification and evaluation.

Wide Range of Assistive Devices to be Distributed
The beneficiaries will receive various assistive devices based on eligibility and medical assessment. These include motorised tricycles, standard tricycles, wheelchairs for children and adults, elbow crutches, different types of walking crutches, adjustable walking sticks, folding Braille canes, Braille kits, rollators, hearing aids, CP chairs, shell phones, accessible canes, joystick wheelchairs, TLM kits, calipers, artificial limbs and other supportive devices.
Mayor Praises the Initiative
On the occasion, Mayor Madhusudan Yadav appreciated the initiative and said that Rajnandgaon district has been at the forefront of providing free assistive devices to persons with disabilities and senior citizens.
He appealed to all eligible persons with disabilities to take advantage of such camps and undergo assessments so that they can receive the assistive devices required for improving their mobility and quality of life.

Public Representatives and Officials Present
Several public representatives and officials were present during the camp, including District Panchayat President Kiran Vaishnav, Vice President Kiran Sahu, Janpad Panchayat President Pratima Chandrakar, District Panchayat Chairperson Devkumari Sahu, members Sheila Sinha and Anita Mandavi, along with councillors and local representatives.
Officials from the Social Welfare Department, including Deputy Director Vaishali Mardwar and other department staff, also attended the programme. A large number of citizens and beneficiaries participated in the camp.
