In a daring and meticulously planned operation, the Indian Armed Forces launched Operation Sindoor on May 7, 2025, at 1:05 AM, targeting nine terror-linked locations in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). Executed in a mere 22 minutes, the operation delivered a decisive blow to terrorist infrastructure linked to the April 22 Pahalgam attack, which claimed 26 civilian lives.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh lauded the armed forces for their precision, bravery, and restraint, emphasizing that the strikes avoided civilian and military targets, focusing solely on terror camps operated by groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba.
The operation, a coordinated effort by the Army, Navy, and Air Force, struck key sites, including the Jaish-e-Mohammed headquarters in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba’s base in Muridke, along with camps in Muzaffarabad, Kotli, and Sialkot. Using advanced precision munitions, the forces ensured minimal collateral damage while neutralizing over 100 terrorists, including key operatives involved in past attacks.

Named Sindoor to honor the women who lost their husbands in the Pahalgam tragedy, the operation underscores India’s unwavering resolve against terrorism. Rajnath Singh declared, “India has shown that no terrorist will find a safe haven, even across the border.”
This swift action not only avenged the Pahalgam victims but also reinforced India’s “Make in India” spirit through its reliance on indigenous defense capabilities, signaling a new era of strategic dominance.
