Under the direction of Superintendent of Police Ankita Sharma, the Rajnandgaon Police organized a one-day training program for station clerks (Munshi) and support staff from all police stations across the district on Tuesday. The training session was conducted at the reserve center’s Mangal Bhawan in Rajnandgaon, with guidance from Additional Superintendent of Police Kirtan Rathore and City Superintendent of Police (Cyber) Alexander Kiro.

The primary objective of the workshop was to strengthen administrative efficiency at the police station level by enhancing knowledge related to record maintenance, documentation standards, and procedural compliance. During the training, participants were provided detailed information about various registers that are required to be maintained at police stations. Officials explained the correct methods for maintaining records, safe preservation of documents, and the legally prescribed timelines for the disposal or destruction of records.

Special emphasis was placed on registers used under the newly implemented criminal laws, including the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam (BSA), along with procedural requirements under the updated criminal justice framework. Trainers distributed a comprehensive list of important registers currently in use and offered step-by-step guidance on maintaining them in an updated and systematic manner.

Officials instructed all police stations to ensure that from the current month onward, registers are maintained strictly according to the prescribed formats. This measure aims to improve transparency, accountability, and efficiency in police documentation and administrative processes. Authorities noted that proper record management plays a crucial role in investigations, court proceedings, and departmental audits, making accuracy and consistency essential.

The session also included interactive discussions where participants were encouraged to raise queries related to practical challenges faced during documentation and reporting. Senior officers clarified doubts and shared best practices to ensure uniformity across police stations in the district.

According to police officials, such training initiatives are part of a broader effort to modernize policing systems and enhance institutional accountability. By building administrative capacity at the grassroots level, the department seeks to create a more organized, responsive, and citizen-centric policing framework.

The Rajnandgaon Police have been conducting periodic training programs covering legal updates, cybercrime awareness, investigation techniques, and administrative reforms to ensure that personnel remain well-equipped to handle evolving law enforcement responsibilities.
