NIT Raipur’s Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) Club successfully organized a free health camp in Nardaha village on March 22, 2025, providing essential healthcare services to hundreds of villagers. Under the leadership of Dr. N. V. Ramana Rao, Director of NIT Raipur, this initiative aimed to improve community health and raise awareness about hygiene and wellness.

NIT Raipur’s Health Camp: A Step Towards Community Well-being

The health camp, a key initiative under the Unnat Bharat Abhiyan (UBA) framework, was supported by medical experts including Dr. Sameer Sonkar, Medical Officer at NIT Raipur, and Dr. Ashwini Devangan, District Medical Officer. Their active involvement ensured comprehensive and effective healthcare services for the rural population.

"This health camp is part of UBA’s vision to bridge the healthcare gap in rural areas," said Dr. N. V. Ramana Rao.

With the guidance of Dr. Sudhakar Pandey, UBA’s Regional Coordinator, and PI Coordinators Dr. Harendra Bikrol, Dr. Suvendu Rup, Dr. Jitendra Kumar Raut, and Mr. Vijay Verma, the camp was executed smoothly.

Local leadership, including Sarpanch Neelima Verma and Panchayat members Manki Verma, Rukmani Sahu, Neelkanth Sahu, and Usha Dhruv, were present to lend their support.

Health Services and Free Medical Supplies Provided

During the event, villagers underwent a range of health screenings, including:

  • Blood pressure tests
  • Blood sugar level checks
  • Body weight assessments

Following the check-ups, participants received free medical consultations and were provided with essential medicines and supplements, including:

  • ORS solutions to prevent dehydration
  • Calcium tablets for bone health
  • Vitamin and iron supplements to strengthen immunity
  • Paracetamol, cold and cough medicines, and antibiotics to address seasonal illnesses

The outreach benefited hundreds of villagers, offering them much-needed medical assistance and information about maintaining good health and hygiene.

Strengthening Rural Healthcare Through UBA

The initiative aligns with UBA’s mission to promote rural development and healthcare access. By providing free medical services and raising health awareness, NIT Raipur’s UBA Club continues to extend its impact beyond the campus.

"We aim to conduct more such camps to serve a wider community in the coming months," shared Dr. Sudhakar Pandey, UBA Regional Coordinator.
