Swift action and CCTV surveillance help reunite passenger with belongings left behind in e-rickshaw

In a prompt and commendable operation, the Rajnandgaon Traffic Police successfully recovered a bag containing valuable items that a passenger had accidentally left behind in an e-rickshaw. The recovery was made possible through the use of CCTV surveillance and the vehicle’s unique identification number.
According to official information, Vandana Sahare, wife of Vinod Sahare and a resident of Barga in Rajnandgaon district, had travelled by e-rickshaw from Barga Chowk to the Railway Station. While alighting, she inadvertently left her bag inside the vehicle, which drove away shortly thereafter.
Upon realizing the loss, the passenger immediately approached the Traffic Branch of Rajnandgaon Police. Acting swiftly, traffic personnel examined footage from CCTV cameras installed at the control room and identified the e-rickshaw using its displayed unique number (197) and registration number CG 08 S 0691.

The concerned auto driver was contacted and called to the traffic office, where the bag was found safe and intact. After due verification, the belongings were handed over to the rightful owner.
Expressing her relief and gratitude, Vandana Sahare thanked the traffic police for their efficiency, responsiveness and support. The Traffic Police, meanwhile, reiterated their appeal to the public to always note the unique number of autos, tempos and e-rickshaws while travelling, as it greatly assists in identification during emergencies.
