Benefits transferred directly to workers through DBT under multiple state-run labour welfare initiatives

The Labour Department has provided financial assistance amounting to ₹1 crore 65 lakh 86 thousand 245 to 4,373 beneficiaries under various labour welfare schemes in Rajnandgaon district during January 2026.
The benefits were extended through different schemes operated under the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, aimed at improving the social security, education and welfare of registered workers and their families. The entire amount was transferred directly to beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system.
According to the District Labour Officer, assistance under the Free Uniform and Books Scheme was provided to 1,318 children of construction workers, amounting to ₹17.65 lakh. Under the Minimata Mahtari Jatan Yojana, 278 beneficiaries received financial aid totaling ₹55.60 lakh.
Similarly, 82 beneficiaries were assisted with ₹16.40 lakh under the Chief Minister Noni Sashaktikaran Assistance Scheme, while the Chief Minister Nonihaal Scholarship Scheme benefited 2,624 students with an amount of ₹51.85 lakh.
Under the Chief Minister Construction Worker Death and Disability Assistance Scheme, 15 beneficiaries received ₹15 lakh. The Chief Minister Worker Tool Assistance Scheme provided ₹17,245 to five beneficiaries, while 44 senior workers were extended ₹8.80 lakh under the Chief Minister Shramik Siyan Assistance Scheme.
Additionally, seven meritorious students were supported under the Chief Minister Noni Babu Medhavi Education Assistance Scheme, receiving ₹38,500.
Officials stated that the objective of these welfare schemes is to ensure financial security, educational support and social empowerment of workers and their families. The Labour Department continues to encourage eligible workers to register under the schemes to avail maximum benefits.
