The paddy procurement drive underway in Rajnandgaon district during the Kharif Marketing Season 2025–26 has brought a wave of happiness among farmers. Under the state government’s large-scale paddy procurement campaign, paddy is being purchased at a rate of ₹3,100 per quintal from farmers, combining the Minimum Support Price (MSP) and benefits under the Krishak Unnati Yojana, with a purchase limit of up to 21 quintals per acre.

Under the guidance of Collector Mr. Jitendra Yadav, comprehensive arrangements have been made to ensure the smooth and transparent conduct of paddy procurement operations. Facilities such as electronic weighing machines, drinking water, shaded waiting areas, biometric devices, labour support, and other essential amenities have been provided at procurement centres. Paddy quality is being tested using moisture measuring instruments to ensure adherence to prescribed standards.

Across the district’s 96 paddy procurement centres, display boards and flex banners showcasing procurement rates and farmer lists have been prominently installed. The Collector has issued strict instructions for continuous monitoring of procurement centres and for taking firm action against illegal procurement by middlemen and commission agents.

To facilitate ease and save time, farmers are obtaining procurement tokens through the ‘Token Tuhar Hath’ mobile application, ensuring a hassle-free and farmer-friendly process.

According to official data, paddy has been procured so far from 53,149 registered farmers, amounting to 27,41,899.20 quintals, with a total value of ₹651 crore 06 lakh 62 thousand. Lifting of procured paddy is also progressing steadily, with 4,08,342.98 quintals already transported from procurement centres.

The ongoing procurement drive is being seen as a major boost to farmer confidence, reinforcing the government’s commitment to ensuring fair prices, transparency, and timely support to the agricultural community.
