In response to the ongoing flood crisis in Nepal, the Embassy of India in Kathmandu has issued an advisory urging all Indian nationals in the country to utilize dedicated emergency contact numbers for immediate assistance. The embassy announced two helpline numbers, +977–9808602881 and +977–9810326134, to ensure swift support for Indian citizens facing emergencies or requiring aid during this challenging period.

The announcement comes as Nepal grapples with severe flooding triggered by heavy rainfall, which has led to significant loss of life, property damage, and disruption of normal activities. The Indian Embassy’s proactive step aims to provide a reliable point of contact for Indian nationals who may be stranded, affected, or in need of assistance amidst the crisis.

The helplines are part of the embassy’s efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of Indian citizens in Nepal, offering guidance, coordination with local authorities, and support for evacuation or relief where necessary. The embassy has urged all Indian nationals to save these numbers and reach out without hesitation in case of emergencies.

This initiative underscores India’s commitment to standing by its citizens abroad, particularly during times of crisis. As rescue and relief operations continue in Nepal, with Indian agencies like the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) also contributing to efforts, the embassy’s helplines provide a critical lifeline for Indian nationals navigating the challenges posed by the natural disaster.
