The lush green month of Saawan turned even more festive in Rajnandgaon’s Lakholi locality as the ‘Saawan Sundari’ program brought together women from across the area for a day of celebration, tradition, and talent. The event was held under the joint aegis of South BJP Mandal Mahila Group and Nari Kalyan Self-Help Group, Ward 36, and was graced by former MP Abhishek Singh as the chief guest.

Dressed in vibrant traditional attire with full solah shringar, women participated enthusiastically in a variety of cultural competitions, including bindi decoration, recorded dance, traditional costume display, and the central highlight – the Saawan Sundari contest. The atmosphere was further enlivened by the symbolic Saawan swing, a monsoon tradition that added color and nostalgia to the event.
