The Shri Shyam Parivar Mitra Mandal has completed extensive preparations to celebrate the four-day Phagun Mahotsav of Khatu Wale Shyam with devotion and grandeur in Rajnandgaon. A magnificent devotional setup is being arranged at the Udayachal premises, where devotees are expected to participate in large numbers.

According to senior member and spokesperson Ashok Lohiya, the festival will commence on Phagun Shukla Navami (25 February) at 10:00 AM with the ceremonial milk abhishek (ritual bathing) of Baba Shyam. Devotees will be allowed to bring cow’s milk from their homes to participate in the ritual. Alongside the ceremony, a special “Shyam Naam Mehendi” event will also be organized for women devotees.

As per the information released by patron Gopal Agrawal, Sushil Agrawal, Santosh Hunka, and president Saurabh Agrawal, a grand Nishan Yatra (religious flag procession) will be taken out at 5:00 PM on the first day from the Udayachal premises. The procession will feature an attractive tableau of Shyam Prabhu, which is expected to be the main highlight, with hundreds of devotees carrying religious flags in their hands.

The musical devotion during the Nishan Yatra will be led by Delhi-based bhajan singer Ritu Panchal, whose performances will accompany devotees dancing and chanting throughout the procession. Local devotional singers from the city will also present bhajans during the event.

The organizing committee informed that earlier this month, on 16 February, a group of 124 devotees led by Sushil Agrawal, Saurabh Agrawal, Santosh Mahobia, and Rahul Lohiya had traveled to Rajasthan for the 25th Nishan pilgrimage. During the journey, devotees visited major religious sites including Khatu Shyam Temple, Salasar Balaji Temple, Shrinathji Temple Nathdwara, and Pushkar Tirth. As per tradition, pilgrims walk approximately 22 kilometers on foot from Ringas to Khatu to offer the Nishan.

For devotees who could not travel to Rajasthan, the committee has arranged a local Nishan Yatra on 25 February so they can also participate and receive spiritual blessings. The procession route will start from Udayachal premises and pass through Mahesh Path, Tiranga Chowk, Bharat Mata Chowk, Kamthi Line, Shyam Mandir Gali, Ramadheen Marg, and Ganj Line before returning to the starting point.

Committee members Jyoti Agrawal, Sonal Agrawal, and Preeti Khandelwal stated that the decoration and prasad services for the procession are being sponsored by the Bhagwati Medical family, while the paan bhog service is being offered by the Sachin Vivek Agrawal family and the Chhappan Bhog service by Vishnuprasad Agrawal (Chacha family).

The organizing committee has appealed to devotees to participate in the milk abhishek, mehendi ceremony in the morning, and the Nishan Yatra in the evening to receive spiritual blessings and make the festival a grand success.
