Joint Operation at Railway Station and Village Barnalakalan; 1,000 Kg Mahua Lahan Also Confiscated

Acting on the directives of Collector and District Magistrate Jitendra Yadav, the Excise Department carried out action against illegal liquor trade in the district, resulting in multiple seizures.
According to In-charge Assistant Commissioner Excise Abhishek Tiwari, a joint team of the Excise Department and the Railway Protection Force conducted a raid at Platform No. 1 of Rajnandgaon Railway Station. The team seized 7.680 bulk litres of Maharashtra-manufactured country and foreign liquor from an आरोपी identified as Kaushal, a resident of Bhilai Power House area in Durg district.

The seized liquor included bottles of McDowell’s No.1 Whisky (750 ml), Magic Moments Whisky (750 ml), Royal Challenger (90 ml), Desi Daaru Meethi Saunf (750 ml), Desi Daaru Phirki Santri (750 ml), and Seven Star Punch (750 ml). A case has been registered under relevant sections of the Excise Act, and the accused has been arrested.
In a separate operation, the Excise team recovered 100 litres of illicit hand-brewed mahua liquor and approximately 1,000 kilograms of mahua lahan from the banks of a stream in village Barnalakalan. Legal action has been initiated under the Excise Act in connection with the seizure.

Officials stated that regular inspections of hotels, dhabas, and liquor outlets are being conducted across the district to curb illegal liquor sales. Circle in-charges have been instructed to intensify checks and ensure strict enforcement against violations.
