90 kg Mahua Lahan also confiscated during crackdown on illegal liquor trade in Rajnandgaon district

Continuing its drive against illegal liquor trade, the Excise Department seized 20 litres of illicit hand-distilled Mahua liquor and 90 kilograms of Mahua lahan (fermented raw material) from the banks of a stream in Gwalindih village.
The action was taken in compliance with the directives issued by Collector and District Magistrate Mr. Jitendra Yadav, who has instructed strict enforcement against illegal liquor manufacturing and sale across the district.
According to In-charge Assistant Commissioner of Excise Mr. Abhishek Tiwari, the seized liquor and raw material were recovered from an unidentified location near the Gwalindih stream. A case has been registered under the relevant sections of the Excise Act, and further legal proceedings are being carried out as per rules.

The enforcement team included Excise Sub-Inspector (Rajnandgaon Rural Circle) Mrs. Tuleshwari Devangan, Head Constable Mr. Milap Mandavi, and Excise Constables Mr. Pradeep Yadav, Mr. Kishori Komre, and Mr. Deepak Sinha.
Officials stated that to curb illegal liquor activities, continuous inspections of hotels, dhabas and licensed liquor shops are being conducted throughout the district. All circle in-charges have been directed to carry out regular checks and take strict action against those involved in unlawful liquor production and sale.
The department reiterated its commitment to maintaining law and order and preventing the distribution of illicit alcohol in the district.
