Entries Invited for Chandulal Chandrakar and Madhukar Kher Memorial Journalism Awards till September 19

Outstanding print and electronic media journalists to receive ₹50,000 each as recognition of excellence

The Public Relations Department of the Chhattisgarh Government has invited entries for the prestigious Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Journalism Award and Madhukar Kher Memorial Journalism Award for the year 2025. These awards have been instituted to honor the memory of eminent journalists late Chandulal Chandrakar and late Madhukar Kher, and to encourage creative writing and outstanding reporting on the themes of culture, prosperity, and development of Chhattisgarh.

Interested candidates may submit their entries by September 19, 2025 through registered post to:
Director, Public Relations Directorate, Ground Floor, Indravati Bhavan, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar, District Raipur (Chhattisgarh) – 492002.

Entries must be sent in a sealed envelope clearly marked as “Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Journalism Award 2025” or “Madhukar Kher Memorial Journalism Award 2025.” Late entries will not be considered, and the Directorate will not be responsible for postal delays.

Award Categories & Prize Money

  • The Chandulal Chandrakar Memorial Journalism Award will honor two journalists – one from print media and one from electronic media – with a cash prize of ₹50,000 each. The award is reserved for outstanding work in Hindi or Chhattisgarhi language reporting or articles.
  • The Madhukar Kher Memorial Journalism Award will also recognize two journalists – one from print and one from electronic media – with a cash prize of ₹50,000 each. This award is dedicated to English language journalism, both print and broadcast, focusing on Chhattisgarh-related content.

Entry Guidelines

  • Entries must relate to work published or broadcast between September 2024 and August 31, 2025.
  • Submissions should include verified clippings, CDs, or DVDs of the work in six copies, along with a certification confirming authenticity of the facts.
  • Applications may be submitted directly by journalists themselves or by recognized journalists, editorial heads, or registered media organizations.

These memorial awards aim to nurture creativity, inspire excellence, and provide recognition to journalists who contribute meaningfully to public awareness about Chhattisgarh’s culture, progress, and development.
