Three-Day Training Program for Line Workers Concludes Under RDSS

(Shri Selat stressed the significance of line workers in reducing distribution losses, improving revenue collection, and delivering consumer convenience, ultimately shaping the company’s positive image.)

Rajnandgaon, 17 January 2025 – A three-day training program for line workers under the Training Distribution Program (RDSS) concluded on January 17, 2025, at the training center located in the regional administrative building of Chhattisgarh State Power Distribution Company Limited (CSPDCL), Rajnandgaon. The program, held from January 15 to 17, was concluded by Shri Shirish Selat, Executive Director of the Rajnandgaon region. This initiative aimed to train field workers from departmental divisions, including Rajnandgaon, Dongargaon, Mohla, Dongargarh, Khairagarh, Kawardha, and Pandariya, to enhance their performance at their respective workplaces.

During the closing ceremony, Executive Director Shri Selat addressed the trainees and emphasized the importance of adhering to safety standards and executing accident-free operations while working on electrical lines and equipment. He highlighted that line workers serve as the primary link between power consumers and the electricity company. Ensuring better electricity services for consumer l prioritizing the company’s interests is the hallmark of line workers.

He further stated that departmental training enhances both technical knowledge and behavioral skills. Workers should maintain calm and positive interactions with consumers at their workplaces, thereby acting as bridges for the company. He also encouraged the dissemination of information about the company’s “Mor Bijli App” and other online services to consumers.

The training’s objective was also to foster discussions among employees, enabling them to adopt and implement effective work practices from their peers. Shri Selat stressed the significance of line workers in reducing distribution losses, improving revenue collection, and delivering consumer convenience, ultimately shaping the company’s positive image. He urged the attendees to internalize the knowledge imparted by senior officials and actively contribute to their respective work areas.

During the program, line workers were trained on various topics, including operational safety and disaster management in electricity distribution, detailed knowledge of substation equipment, safe work practices, disaster management, improvement in lines and equipment, schemes like DDUGJY, RDSS, Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS), UDAY, Saubhagya, electric vehicle charging infrastructure safety, safety regulations under the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) of 2003, work permit procedures, risk assessment in handling equipment, personal protective equipment protocols, electrical distribution training, electrical safety principles, gas-insulated substation safety, safety inspections, emergency response, customer engagement, and communication skills.

Expert lectures also covered national disaster management authority protocols, clearance requirements for low and medium-voltage lines, first aid and firefighting equipment, personal rescue devices, and behavior-based safety.

The closing ceremony was attended by Superintending Engineer Shri K.C. Khote, Shri H.K. Chandrawanshi, Executive Engineer Shri S.R. Sande, Shri D.K. Ratre, Shri Domen Thakur, Shri Birbal Uike, Shri Suresh Jatwar, and PRO Shri D.S. Mandavi.
